I graduated from the University of Queensland with First Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering.
After briefly working in engineering roles, I made a lateral move into Intellectual Property law in 1991 when I joined the Australian Patent Office as an Examiner of Patents.
After a couple of years at the Australian Patent Office, I moved into private practice and progressed through the ranks to partnership with Pizzeys Patent Attorneys.
I held the role of Managing Partner at Pizzeys Patent Attorneys and led the firm over a decade of rapid growth and, ultimately, acquisition by a publicly-listed company (IPH) in 2015.
I have extensive experience in patent and design prosecution in Australia and New Zealand, with a particular emphasis on medical devices.
I am excited to be a co-founder of RnB IP together with long-time colleague, Marty Richardson.
When not working on patents, I can be found irritating the good surfers at my local breaks.
